"MISU"

"Misu" (shade) is highly decorative window, wall, or room divider screen that have been used for nearly 800 years in Japan. They are hand crafted from the finest bamboo and made in the same fashion as they were centuries ago by highly experienced craftsman. To make these beautiful screens each individual segment of bamboo must be hand cut to about 1mm, individually cured and hand sewn. Your room will take on a look of elegance with the additional of "MISU", also antique "MISU" are available.

Contemporary art became popular in Japan during the early fifties, blending the centuries old traditional looks with the new. You will see examples of how contemporary arties, using both oils and calligraphy, have been able to merge the new with the old and still give the flavor of the Japanese esthetic values that have been passed down through generations of artists.
